Who we are

We are a team located in the USA, UK and Indonesia who are making a difference to children in need in Jakarta, one meal at a time.



What we are doing

Our aim is to help feed homeless and poverty stricken children in Jakarta. Operating since October 2019 , we have provided over 1,500 meals so far.  Donations made to the project go directly to our friends in Indonesia, who co-ordinate the purchase of supplies, preparing and distributing the meals.


It has become a community affair, with an assortment of volunteers joining in.  Different people help each day and they go to a variety of places - homes, orphanages, urban areas - providing meals to children in need in as many areas as they can.

Why we are doing it

By providing one nutritious meal a day, we are helping children to concentrate on self-development and education, giving them the chance to grow happy and become self-sufficient adults who can help break the vicious cycle that results in crime, poverty and ill health.

Some facts about Jakarta, Indonesia

We know that there are children at home and all over the world who are in need, so why do we need to help people in Jakarta in particular?

The fourth most populated country in the world, Indonesia is home to 84 million children. It’s estimated that more than 160,000 children in Jakarta are homeless and more than 25 million families live in urban slums.

·        36% of children under 5 have stunted growth due to malnutrition
·        14% of school-age children are out of school
·        26 out of 1000 children die before their 5th birthday
·        7% of children are engaged in child labor


At least 40% of Indonesians live in areas that are prone to natural disasters and last year was particularly tough with more than 2,500 disasters ranging from earthquakes and tsunamis to landslides and volcanic eruptions. In January this year, Jakarta was further devastated by flash floods - at least 66 people were killed and 60,000 displaced in the worst flooding in the area since 2007.

How can you help?

Your donation will help make a difference to the number of meals we can provide, and reduce the number of children who are hungry on the streets.  Just one meal can make a difference to a child and any donation, no matter how small, will help us to continue this project.

COVID-19 Impact

Due to the current situation, it is becoming even more important to keep up the momentum - just one nutritious meal a week can make a huge difference to a child.  We appreciate that all charities are struggling to raise money at the moment and many more fundraisers are being created to help people during the Coronavirus pandemic. It would make a huge difference if you could donate the cost of your own lunch for a day or more, so that we can continue to help these children who need our support now more than ever.
