Dare to Make a Difference for Dorota

Donation protected
Dorota (only 58) is a loving wife, mother, sister and friend; completely dedicated to her family and those she loves.  She has made so many sacrifices for her family over the years.  As a mother she has been selfless.  As a grandmother she continued to be selfless as she became the main caregiver for them (Zander - now 14, Zoey and Zarko, 4 year old twins).  Over the past year she has been silently battling a rare cancer which has disfigured her face.  She has been fighting in her typical, stoic and private fashion.  The tumor has created such damage and was inoperable from the time of diagnosis and  due to delays in treatment spread rapidly to the rest of her body.  There have been many other obstacles in the way of her treatment from the start.  I can't  begin to tell you how absurd the circumstances are that she has encountered with our country’s medical system. The worst result is the delay in treatment that has allowed her tumor to grow in size and complexity. It is disheartening to see the wife of a retired army veteran have to go through such a dreadful ordeal.

Dorota has been unable to work over the past year due to her illness, and to add insult to injury, has also been denied disability. Only living off a small military retirement, there is a huge financial hardship that now must be endured. I am hoping that you will give whatever you can to help offset these costs for our family. Traveling frequently to NYC, Albany, and Westchester for numerous doctor appointments and treatments over the year has become a huge financial burden.

For those of you who know Dorota Williams, you understand that asking others for financial help is not something she would take lightly. It is due to extremely difficult and uncontrollable circumstances that I am requesting your help for this woman, my mother, who is more than deserving.

Nothing can prepare us for our inevitable loss. Dorota is the pillar of our family; holding us all together. She will be survived by her doting husband, sisters, two children and her three loving grandchildren who will miss out on making memories with their “Oma” as they grow up. I can’t express enough the love that Dorota has spread and continues to spread despite what she is going through.  She continues to worry about everyone else even though she is now facing such a devastating decision to enter Hospice.  Please consider making a donation!
