Maine Small Business Looted

Donation protected
Last night I stayed up late to watch our local protests take place in Portland and surrounding towns and cities. I hoped for a peaceful protest and positive delivery of the message that was being stood for. I stopped watching when the situation in Portland took a bad turn.
Unfortunately, I woke up to receive the information that the Garcia Family Businesses had been targeted by looter’s.  Rebecca Garcia  (a life long friend) had posted the scene along with video of multiple young men looting their family convenience stores. Her husband Jhondel Garcia and his brother Hansel Garcia are owners of Cumberland Ave Shop and Little Havana Plaza in Portland Maine.
Aside from selling convenience items, the brothers offer urban apparel not commonly found in local stores. Urban outfitters carries similar apparel (the other store damaged in the area). The clothing and sneakers were the focus of the looter’s.
Sadly, the Cumberland Ave Shop was in the process of moving and the insurance policy had run out. I’m hoping that we as a community can come together to help the Garcia Family recoup their losses.  In the midst of a Pandemic, our small businesses are struggling to stay alive.

I appreciate your your time and donations,
