Main Street Community Center and Coffee Shop

The City of Gilby would like to share some exciting news! We recently obtained the old grocery store building and have a vision to create an updated Community Center and coffee shop for the residents of Gilby and surrounding communities to use and enjoy!
At the Main Street initiative areas of potential growth outlined by community members were: the need for a gathering place for friends and neighbors, support and growth of local businesses, and local employment. We are hopeful that bringing a new business to this town will not only foster relationships but also create a revitalization and growth in our small community.
The heart of a small town is a Community Center. This is envisioned to be a multipurpose space for activities such as bingo, trivia, holiday events, community breakfasts, and so much more. Additionally, the community center would be available for rent for personal use.
With the acquisition of the building we have many updates to consider. Estimated costs are as follows:
• Kitchen: $10,000
• Flooring: $3,000
• Construction items: $4,000
• Windows: $600
• Bathroom: $1000
• Furnace: $22,000
• Electrical $15,000
As you can see, there is a lot of work to be done to acheive this goal and with your help, we believe we can do it!
