Maile and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome

My beautiful daughter,
Maile Madsen is suffering from an extremely cruel disease.
Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome has ravaged her body and completely changed her life. Maile was an outstanding tennis player. She embraced the Polynesian culture and absolutely excelled in their dance. For the last several years even the most routine of daily functions have become incredibly difficult for Maile.
She is about to have her third shoulder surgery. Maile has already had one hip surgery and several more procedures on her hands. She has to endure monthly injections. Physical therapy with a dry needling occurs each week. Maile also goes to occupational therapy weekly. Her insurance does not come close to adequately covering the costs for the surgeries and the necessary rehabilitation.
Maile is an inspiration to me. Her resilience and perseverance are unequivocally extraordinary. As she continues her fight, Maile is also doing an awesome job of teaching awareness and helping others battling this agonizing disease.
We are humbly asking for love, thoughts, prayers, and your healing energy.
