Mahima Ministries Orphange India

The founder of Mahima Ministries (a fully registered non-profit organization), R.D. Maharaju, grew up in poverty, losing his parents at a young age. He eventually moved to Hyderabad. Working as a computer network administrator, he felt compelled to use his income to help others. In 2005, Mahima Ministries joined like-minded people to care for a few widows. As neighbors observed their work, they brought in orphans, patients presumed to be dying of AIDS, and others with critical needs. Eventually, the ministry grew beyond what Maharaju’s personal income could support. Mahima Ministries now relies largely on the generosity and kindness of others who want to help.Today, the orphange supports over 120 children with no financial support from the local government. The Indian government did donate a plot of land and local corporations recently built a new home on that property, now there is sufficient space to care for the children.  This orphage currenty offers education through 7th grade but will soon get approval to teach through 10th grade.

I know many people are hesistant to help charities because of concern the monies will be misused and not directed toward the children.  I personally made a visit to this orphange and met the caretakers first hand.  I can assure you these are people who have very little financially to give but have a HUGE heart and thanks to them these 120 children have a place to live and someone who cares for them.  Most of these children have been abandoned, found on the streets begging, or lost their parents to illnesses.

I am seeking your help to raise funds for food, clothes, education, utilities and other basic neccessities.  In speaking to the founders of this organization, they are in need of food so they can provide an adequate meal.  Currently, they only have enough food for 18 days per month so the need to manage resources carefully to last a full month.

Thank you in advance for your support. Many of you already support your own charities/organizations and that is wonderful.  I have been fortunate enough to work with great people that have exposed me to these types of organizations while on my visits to India.  They motivate me!
