Help Mahbooba Beat Cancer Once and for All

A beloved mother, sister, daughter, wife, teacher, and friend needs the community’s help to get the care she needs.

Her Story

On September 2017, a loving mother of two, caring wife, and dedicated primary school teacher returned to work after 4 years of battling an aggressive form of breast cancer that spread to many parts of her body including spine and hip. She returned to work quickly in order to help pay the costs of her previous cycle of cancer treatment. Sadly, her love of teaching was cut short last year, as cancer returned in a more forceful and crippling manner. She is currently fighting it harder than she ever has.

Her oncologist has informed her that there are no more oral medications which she can take that are strong enough to fight back against the aggressive form of cancer that she has.  She has been forced to seek out chemotherapy as this is the sole option in giving her a fighting chance. Since then, she has lost over 140 lbs, barely eats due to lack of appetite and stress, and has moved in with her sister to help take care of her. Following the three months of chemotherapy, she hopes to start a 3 week treatment provided by the Hope 4 Cancer treatment center.  Unfortunately, this treatment will not be covered by her insurance and she will have to incur the costs (3-week program cost $50,000).

A Little About Mahbooba

A little about Mahbooba - she is a true gem and inspiration. She is giving and selfless. She has been a school teacher for over 15 years. A testimony about Mahbooba from a former students mother "When I first met her she was my son’s pre-K teacher. She is one of those people that just exudes light and warmth and all I wanted to do was hug her every time I saw her at pick up. She would drive over 2 hours a day to teach at my child’s school because she believed in the school’s mission. She worked tirelessly and loved every one of the kids as if they were her own. At the time she was diagnosed she was teaching my daughter’s 4th-grade class and all she was concerned with was how the kids would do without her and how she was going to get to the school while doing chemotherapy! She always put her students before herself because she has a heart of gold. Besides being a loving mother and dedicated teacher, she has always been a pillar of strength in her local community, often being the individual who brings life and happiness into every room she enters. "

How You Can Help

We ask that you please help alleviate her burdens so that one day God can alleviate yours. We want to see our sister cured of cancer and to return to optimal health. She has so much to give back to the community and we can’t imagine our community without her.  No amount is too little and will help our sister seek out the treatment she so desperately needs.  May God reward you all immensely for your time and consideration. Please remember her and all those suffering in your prayers.
