MaGuill House Restoration

Donation protected
A considerable amount of effort has been made by home owners in the Historical District of Utica Michigan to save historical homes and buildings.  Care has been made to ensure historical accuracy when doing maintenance or improvements to properties.  Unfortunately not all home owners have the necessary funds to restore their buildings.  One of these cases is 45236 Cass Avenue, Utica know as the MaGuill house. This home was built in 1850 and is currently owned by a senior resident,  Mrs. Helen Kent.  Mrs. Kent is a 50 year resident of Utica and has no living blood relatives to assisted her.  A group of neighbors have been working with Mrs. Kent to improve the building.  The exterior of the building is under distress and requires immediate repair and painting.  Due to the urgency of the building condition Mrs. Kent does not have all of the funding to save the building.  Quotes have been gathered by neighbors and it has been determined that an additional $5000.00 will bring this building back to it's prime condition.
This is truly a case of neighbor helping neighbor to the benefit of all.  Utica is a wonderful city to live in with a true small town feel.  Help us keep it for the next generation.
