The Mägo Staff Relief Fund
Dear Friends,
A little more than a week ago, we were coming up with new dishes and beverages to gear up for our first spring at Mägo. We are only 8 months old and we were finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel; we were not making profit consistently every month but we had chipped away at a big chunk of our opening costs. We had even started to work on our backyard patio garden....all of that has been put on hold for now.
We are reaching out to you, our neighbors and community, for donations to help see our employees through this crisis. Everything we raise here will be equally shared amongst our small but talented staff of dishwashers, servers, bartenders and cooks. Our team is like family, and we want to make sure they can continue to buy groceries, pay rent, cover medical costs, and maintain some measure of stability in the months to come. We know these are trying times for our community, but every bit helps.
As a business we have done our best to continue to pay our staff, transitioning to take out and delivery service. While this is supporting our neighborhood and community and we will continue to do so, we had to let go of the majority of our staff. We will continue to request support from our local government officials to press the dire necessity for hospitality related assistance, we also need to pursue other options to help our staff and to make sure they still have health care.
We are hopeful that we will be able to go back to business-as-usual as soon as possible; meanwhile, we appreciate your consideration in supporting our Mägo family. Our staff makes up a big portion of why a visit to our restaurant is so special.
We look forward to welcoming you all back to Mägo as soon as possible!
Thank you and stay safe out there.
