Magnuson Family Medical Care

Donation protected
When Bob and Megan Magnuson decided to add to their family of 4, they never expected to add 2 more! Jane and Sam would be getting twin baby sisters!

Megan had a roller coaster of a pregnancy, with many complications and unknowns, requiring appointments and testing multiple times per week in Rockford and Chicago, and bed rest for Megan. It was uncertain if baby girls Magnuson would make it through at times. Finally in May, 3 months early, baby girls Mae and Vivienne were born!
Mae and Vivienne came into the world 3 months early, with many challenges ahead. They were tiny, but mighty!

Vivienne has been hospitalized in the NICU at Rockford Memorial since birth. She has conquered many challenges so far, including heart surgery, and is busy growing and getting stronger every  day so she can come home to play with Jane and Sam soon.

Mae surprised doctors many times. Many of the doctors who oversaw Megan's pregnancy did not think Mae would make it to birth, but she overcame obstacles and came out fighting! She spent 2 months at Rockford Memorial with her sister before being transferred to Lurie's Children's Hospital in Chicago. There she was diagnosed with a rare and complex disease called Pulmonary Vein Stenosis. Sadly, Mae passed away on September 8 in her mom and dad's arms. Megan, Bob, Jane, Sam, and Vivienne so wish Mae could have stayed.
Megan and Bob have appreciated so much all of the love and support they have received from family and friends throughout pregnancy and the challenges of having 2 babies in the NICU and 2 children at home. No amount of money can take away the pain of losing a child, but hopefully we can take away some of the financial stress in order to allow the Magnuson family to grieve for Mae and spend time with Vivienne as she conquers the NICU and comes home to her family. Any money donated to this fundraiser will help Megan and Bob with paying for the twin's medical bills, loss of income from missed work, and care for Vivienne when she comes home. Megan and Bob are such strong, loving parents, and have been managing to get through every challenge that has come their way with grace. Please send prayers and positive thoughts, and donate if you are so inclined. Thank you!!
