You are invited to be part of an event to show our love and help protect our planet. The story Magical Earth Secrets, first written and painted by Della in 1977, was performed by a theatre group in New York ‘Imaginations Unlimited’ produced it as a dance music play that was performed in many of the schools in Manhattan and Harlem in the mid 1980's.
In 1990 Paul George from the Western Canada Wilderness Committee saw a storytelling at the Science Centre in Toronto and said “we want to publish it.” With the help of the WCW members Magical Earth Secrets became a bestseller in Canada. In 1992 an Environmental Activity Guide co-written by Dale Bertrand was published to help teachers, parents and children know they could make a difference in protecting the earth
Right now we need help. The story has been chosen to be performed in Japan for KanazawaBunko Art Festival on September 16th 2018. Author Della Burford and Dale Bertrand would like to attend and are looking for support to do this. The person who envisioned the story as a play, Kazuko Asaba found Della’s book at a Eco-air in San Francisco in 1991. The play which is produced by her friend Ruu Ruu, a costume designer from Tokyo, is featured this year, as it is Kazuko's 50th Anniversary of her children’s Art School in 2018.
After 2011 after the Big Earthquake in Japan, spearheaded by Kazuko and Ruu Ruu, a play called the ‘Majical Rainbow’ has played at various environmental venues and festivals since then.
Della, Dale and Kazuko have a lot in common, they have all spent 50 years of their lives to help increase consciousness among young people to help the world with themes of creativity, building confidence, peace and protecting the environment.
Goal: A book called - ‘Art for One World’ which will have photos of how the three of them along with many others have taken this dream and with their actions made it into art, productions, and books etc. The Divine section of the book also included the designer Ruu*Ruu. The book will also contain 50 art activities. It will be inspirational for many others to take action to help our planet. Della and Dale will also make a video of the event in Japan to share with the world. All will be valuable for future generations. Their wish is for this to be available for everyone who needs to know they can make a difference in our world and that we are truly, One World.
Cost of Project $7,500
This includes 2 air fares to Japan
Costs of hotels for 8 nights, (Della and Dale will be hosted by Kazuko for the remaining stay)
