Hi Friends and Family!
I've started my journey at UW Madison with my sights set on applying to and being accepted in the Nursing School 1st semester of my Junior year. LOTS to do and experience as I begin to check off the required Nursing Program criteria! I have an opportunity to volunteer with a VIDA (Volunteers for Intercultural and Definitive Adventures) Medical Program this Winter (Jan. 2018) and get first-hand experience caring for the people of Central America while learning about their healthcare systems.
This trip will help me become a more well-rounded, culturally competent nursing professional, and will be a valuable first "real-life" experience for me as I explore the field of nursing.
Along with the money I earn working in UW's Dining Services, and savings from working this summer, with the addition of your support, I know I will reach my goal and be able to cover the costs of this incredible opportunity. The cost of this provides us with meals, places to stay, and most importantly all the medical equipment we'll be using to care for the people in Costa Rica and Nicaragua. Thank you for considering my request for donations. I look forward to sharing some amazing stories with all of you when I get back.
