The Funds
As you can see there is only one Reward Level ($25). Many other campaigns give you special perks depending on how much you want to donate. We didn't want you to have to pledge $50 for a picture with us or $100 for a chance to help pick our child's middle name. We felt that wasn't in the spirit of what we are trying to do. So instead of a material prize, you'll receive the satisfaction of having done a good deed.
We're not asking for much. But, honestly, anything helps... whether it's $10 or $1,000, it is and will be greatly appreciated.
Whatever amount we raise puts us one step closer to making
our dream a reality. Any and all funds we raise will go directly into our Adoption Dream Fund savings account.
Adopting one child won't change the world, but for that child the world will change.

"How do I Donate?"
Simply click the "Donate" button on the upper right side or at the bottom of this page. Pay directly with any major credit card through WePay.
"How do I pledge the $25 Reward Level for my contribution?" Simply click on the grey box under where it says "Bear Hug."
"Can I give more or less than the $25 Reward Level for my contribution?"
Of course you can! You will be able to adjust your pledged donation to any amount that you're comfortable with giving. "More" is graciously appreciated, of course... but "Less" will be accepted just as sincerely.
Every bit helps us reach a little closer to our goal of realizing our adoption dream; we thank you for whatever you may be able to donate!
"Will I be charged a "processing fee?"
GoFundMe deducts a 5% fee from each donation we receive; WePay charges 2.9% + $0.30 per payment... But you, the donor, are never charged a fee! (Other sites might charge donors without them knowing it, but not GoFundMe. Donors are charged only the amount they choose to donate, and that's all.)
"Is my donation tax deductible?"
Only donations made to a GoFundMe Certified Charity (which we are not) are considered eligible to claim as a tax deduction. Likewise, donations to a GoFundMe Personal Donation Page are considered to be personal gifts and are not taxed as income in the US. For more information please consult a tax professional in your area.
"How do I know it's safe to make an online donation?"
In terms of online security, all payments are securely processed using industry-standard Secure Socket Layer encryption, or SSL.
"Why can't I use PayPal for US Accounts?"
GoFundMe has teamed up with US payment processor WePay to handle all donations raised by our US users. You may be more familiar with PayPal, but GoFundMe has found that WePay provides an easier experience for both users and donors alike. The Direct Donation feature, powered by WePay, allows donors to pay directly on the fundraiser's page. You won't need to create an account just to finish the transaction or be taken off to another site. WePay also has all of the same great security features that PayPal has to protect you.
"What happens if you DON'T meet your goal?"
This campaign is set up so that if we don't meet the goal we will still be able to collect all of the money that's donated!
"What happens if you DO meet your goal?"
Yippeee!!! If this happens then we'll be able to collect the money donated (minus GoFundMe's & WePay's processing fees). Our dreams will finally become reality and we will be eternally grateful to each of you who helped us along the way!
"What happens if you EXCEED your goal?"
The same things that would happen if we simply met the goal, but this time we would be able to help spread that joy. If we exceed our goal, then we will "Pay it Forward" by passing on extra money raised to other people that are looking to adopt. (Likewise, if there is any donation money left after we complete the adoption process, we will be paying it forward to people with campaigns that find themselves in a similar situation.)

After searching so long for our soul mates, we were blessed to have found one another over 15 years ago. When we met and inevitably fell in love, we pretty much knew that we were meant for each other and we began planning to make our partnership an eternal one and also began dreaming of building a big family together.
Our Journey to Parenthood
Married in June 2001, we thought having children would be something that would just happen naturally at some point during the first five years of marriage; oh, but how wrong we were! Well, two pregnancies DID occur... but, sadly, both ended in miscarriage before Andrea reached
8 weeks gestation. After several years of failing to achieve and/or maintain a pregnancy and then many failed attempts at very expensive in-vitro fertilization treatments, our dreams of children born of our love seemed unlikely to happen ~ either naturally or with medical intervention.
Why We Need Your Help RIGHT NOW
After years of emotional debate and soul-searching we decided any further invasive medical procedures for Andrea, or even trying to find a suitable surrogate to carry our child, were not the family-building options for us.
That said, we decided since our "advanced age" is a factor (well, reproductively anyway! We're still "young at heart.") and realizing that we can't always count on a miracle happening, bringing a child who needs a family into our home through adoption is the best choice for us.
The struggles with infertility have been hard on both of us - physically, emotionally, and most of all, financially. But with all pain and disappointment comes a time to stand up and persevere! Adoption not only is the logical next step but it just feels right... We are excited and more than ready to adopt a child of our own.
So, Why This CrowdFunding Campaign?
Time to cut to the chase! We are a normal working-class couple "“ a Personal Administrative Assistant and a Senior Graphic Designer "“ who are seeking to adopt a child as in desperate need of a loving family as we are in desperate need to give our love and devotion to a child.
To that end, Andrea has begun doing research on the domestic and international adoption process, as well as our state-run foster-to-adopt program. Since, again, our ages are a factor we may have no option other than to adopt an older child (toddler age 3 - age 5 or older) or a child considered to have "special needs."
According to an agency we have consulted, adoption costs can range anywhere from $15,000 to $25,000 or more!
While financially we can support a family going forward, the lump sums that will be required upfront for the adoption process we just don't have. After all the years of unsuccessful expensive medical procedures - coupled with unsteady employment and general economic strife - we're left financially strapped. We literally have no savings left, cannot extend our mortgage any further or even pursue a home equity loan or line of credit. Please understand... We are not "poor," we simply can't raise the $15,000 to $25,000 required soon enough to make it viable to adopt while still at a reasonable age to commit to fully raising a child through to adulthood. Our only alternative is to find funds from other sources to be able to pursue adoption. We are turning to the kind generosity and goodness in people's hearts to help us reach our goal and fulfill our dreams of parenthood.
