Mad About Skateboarding teaches life skills through the discipline of skateboarding. Sports are such an important outlet for children, teaching them about hard work, dedication and how to work as a team - a community. Different children connect with different sports and just like the child who is passionate about football or soccer or baseball, the young skateboarder needs a safe positive environment to foster their sport. Unfortunately Ft Lauderdale, though a thriving city, has not yet been able to meet the needs of the skate community, least of all the youngest athletes.
Mad wants to keep our youngest skaters safe and off the streets by giving them a small, supervised area to skate - right in the heart of downtown Ft Lauderdale.
Our fundraising goal is just a small fraction of the cost to start the park but with a little help from the community it will make the difference necessary to make this a reality for kids in Ft Lauderdale. Every dollar counts! Thank you for your support.
Any contribution of $250+ will get a dedication carved into the slab of the park.
