Madonna's TBI Medical/Recovery Fund

What we all know about Madonna is that she has a huge heart.  She has never met a stranger and she just beams with light and love.  She is the most selfless person that someone could have the privilege to call a friend.  If you’ve ever spent any amount of time with her, she considers you family.  When you hurt, she hurts.  Many of you have received her gifts.  Whether you are sick and she’s dropped a care package on your doorstep and sent a follow up text, your family has suffered a loss and she’s made you a meal, she sends you light and love in times of need, she’s always been there for anyone she has met.

What many people don’t know is she is suffering.  In 2016 we were involved in a motor vehicle accident.  We were stopped in back to back traffic and the driver at fault behind us collided into Madonna’s car going full speed while texting on her phone.  Madonna, my kids and I were in the car.  She knew 2 children were in the car (one baby and one child) and 2 adults and she never asked if we were ok.  The kids checked out with bumps and bruises, and I had severe cervical strain that was resolved after time, Madonna was not so lucky.  There were many days that I tried to do things for her and she was supposed to lay in the dark with no noise, no light, and with no movement while recovering from her concussion.  Little did we know, she suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury. Which has forever changed her life.

Right after the accident she had multiple conditions and services that were needed to assist with her recovery.  She has been seen by Neurologists, Neuropsychologists, Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Chiropractors, Physical Therapists, OMT, Acupuncturists, regular PCP visits, a recommendation for Botox injections in her brain (which she has chosen not to go forward with) and more.  She has tried relentlessly to get back to her previous level of functioning at a huge cost since insurance is still not paying out and she’s been paying out of pocket while unable to work at the level that she was before. You can only imagine the huge costs that she has incurred.  All the while, making sure that she has shown up for everyone in the way that she did before with making meals, care packages, cooking food for parties, and positively contributing to your life the way she always has.

The last two months have been particularly challenging for her as she is paralyzed on a daily basis with increased migraines, chronic fatigue, memory loss, speech problems and pain. She is still not recovered and the recovery regimen is still in question. Medical bills continue to grow as she seeks continued medical support to reach a place where her life can be stable again. I’ve tried to assist her in as many ways as I can, but I feel as though she’s helping me more than I am helping her, in the true Madonna style.  As many of you know, she works incredibly hard, values life, people, tries to take care of things on her own AND has a huge tendency to not ask for help.

At this time, as a friend that considers her family, I think she’s at a point where it’s ok to ask for help. She has been in severe pain, struggling to get the medical attention that she needs (but paying for it out of pocket for 2 years) and can’t continue to pay for it.  She has tried so hard to do things on her own, and she has attempted to live a “normal” life but her closest friends and family know that she is really struggling.

She is one of those people that tries to hide the pain & challenges by living a life as she used to however the struggles have become overbearing. Please know your support, love and light are much appreciated and will greatly assist her in moving forward.  No donation is too small.  If you think $10.00 won’t do anything… many people giving $10.00 will make a difference.  Any amount that won’t impact your family will be greatly appreciated.  She is the most loving, caring, and best person that I have ever met and I know that many of you feel the exact same way… Madonna is a blessing!  She’s one of those people that you could even say is an angel on Earth.  Please know that her heart and body are grateful for whatever help (financially, energetically, mentally, and emotionally) you are able to offer at this time. Please do share with friends and others who may be able to provide support. Many, many blessings!
