If you know anything about me, you know I am passionate about people. Almost 4 years ago, I took a mission trip to Rwanda, Africa. During that trip, my heart for missions grew. I grew aware of the differences in humanity around the world. During this trip, it was clear to me that it would not be my last. Since then, I have been waiting for another opportunity to which I felt called.
That brings us to today. I have been presented the opportunity with the same church which took me to Africa 4 years ago to this time travel to Greece. This trip is unlike any other, during this mission trip I will be working with refugees from the Middle East.
This trip is a part of a group of mission trips working towards the same goal under a church called Antioch. These trips are named Engage the Crisis. These trips were created to meet the needs of a large number of refugees currently entering Europe.
During this trip, I will be serving and loving on refugees, bringing them hope through acts of kindness, relationship building and sharing the hope of Christ.
This is not something I decided to do on a whim, but instead something God has been stirring in my heart for several months now. At Texas A&M, we have a campus-wide ministry called Breakaway which meets every week. In March, they ran a campaign called Shalom which aimed to raise money for refugees in Syria which is where I first felt pulled to do more for this cause.
What does this all mean for you?
Well, I am asking that you would support me firstly in prayer. Prayer for me as I prepare for this trip. Prayer for those I will encounter and the refugee situation over there and lastly, prayer that God will do big, big things! Secondly, I would ask if you were able to support me financially. Either way, I would sincerely appreciate it!
I cannot wait to see what God does through this trip!
