Please keep the Huber family in your prayers through this difficult time. Below is a post Meghan shared on Facebook regarding Madison:

"And though she be but little, she is fierce."

When they say the smallest person can make the biggest impact, you never understand the magnitude of that until it smacks you in the face. The impact this tiny little nugget had on our world was fierce and mighty. She left an impression on everyone she met with her spiky mohawk and sassy, ornery personality. She gave the best sideways glances and quickly perfected her stink eye, but she also loved to talk to you and tell you everything on her mind. Madison Paige, there will never be words for the hole left in this world and in our hearts in losing you. We will tell Savanna about her big sister every day and forever hold you in our hearts. 1/30/2019-5/12/2019 102 days of being the strongest person I will ever know.

Meghan and Mitch Huber, both longtime residents of Garden City, Kansas, welcomed their twin daughters in early 2019. Below is a summary provided by Meghan of Madison's medical situation:

Madison and her twin sister, Savanna, were born 8 weeks early at 32 weeks gestation. Madison weighed 3 pounds 1 oz at birth and was born with a gap in her esophagus and an incorrect connection from her trachea and esophagus. She had surgery to correct those at only 9 days old. She had her second surgery at 2 months old to place a Gtube (feeding tube) due to difficulties eating by mouth (a known complication from her birth defect). After 77 days in the hospital, she was released to go home. Only 4 days after going home, a trip to the ER sent us by air-transport back to our NICU that is over 200 miles from home. After her third surgery and 2 more weeks in the hospital, it was been determined she needed a surgery that is not offered locally nor in the state of Kansas. We were transferred to Cincinnati Children's Hospital for surgery in the hopes of stabilizing her trachea.

The Huber family has an amazing support team in Southwest Kansas which consists of their immediate family as well as hundreds of close friends and coworkers who want to help.
