Madison and Jessica: Team Canada

Hi! I am Madison and I am 15 years old and my sister Jessica is 9 years old. We have been selected by Team Canada Dance to compete in the World Tap Championships in Riesa, Germany this November. I am on the Junior team and Jessica is on the Children’s team. We have both been dancing since the age of 3, and we love it. Jessica and I are also on a competitive dance team at our studio and train almost every day. We work really hard, and this competition is a huge opportunity for us.
Unfortunately, dance is not recognized in Canada as a sport, even though we train up to 7 days per week. Dancers are as flexible as any gymnast, as graceful as figure skaters and as dedicated as any Olympic athlete. Dancers of this caliber have trained for hours and hours and we will represent our country with pride. Each dancer is required to raise $3650.00 in Canadian dollars to cover all travel, (air & ground), coaches travel, Team Canada jackets, hotels and International Starter Fees. Additionally we will also have expenses for choreography and costumes. With the two of us competing, these expenses are doubled. Any donations would be hugely appreciated to support my sister and I on our trip to Germany as we try to win gold for Canada.
