Madisen McMurray's Cancer Treatment Fund

Donation protected
Madisen McMurray was diagnosed with stage one invasive ductal carcinoma at age 22. Being diagnosed this young is exceedingly rare, only 3% of patients diagnosed with cancer are under the age of 40.

Madisen is currently undergoing treatment at MD Anderson. A surgery is scheduled to take place on then 29th of September. Following the surgery she will need to undergo radiation treatment in the affected area for 4-6 weeks. Depending on the pathology of the tumor she may need to additionally undergo chemotherapy. As of right now we believe the cancer has not spread to the lymph-nodes but we will only be certain after her surgery.  Chemotherapy can also affect fertility in patients. In the event of Madisen needing chemotherapy she has been encouraged by her team at MD Anderson to undergo a procedure that would save some of her eggs so she may have the option of having children in the future. Madisen is applying to receive additional funding  that would make this procedure more affordable since she is being treated for cancer but it is still an expensive procedure on top of the rest of her treatment. Costs have already begun adding up even after deductions from insurance. Any financial help will be greatly appreciated as it will allow some burden to be taken off of Madisen and her family.

Madisen graduated from University of Houston early in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Since graduating, she has been working as a Registered Behavior Technician giving ABA therapy to children with autism. Her long-term goal is to get her masters degree in clinical social work and become a therapist for children and adults. Please consider donating so Madisen she can get all the treatment she needs and spend the rest of her life cancer free.

I've known Madisen for many many years. Those that know her would know that she is an amazing person and friend. She has dedicated her life to helping and supporting others through her relationships and career. Let's rally behind her and support her through this incredibly difficult and scary time.

Consider checking out her blog to get more information and stay up to date on her treatment and experiences.
