Madi's Medical Fund

This girl is one smart cookie for sure!  So active and involved in school, Cheer, Girl Scouts, and family!  Also willing to lend a helping hand, add a giggle or two, and share a smile.  Quick to jump up and tell a tale, act out a skit, sing a song, yell a cheer, or even help out a friend.  She is always there for her siblings, her parents, and her friends.  It is our turn to be there for her!

Madi was doing her thing... enjoying games at school, her second to last day of school, and then off to cheer practice.  Sometimes life happens and just when we have it all figured out, we are suddenly spinning out of control.  Madi collapsed during practice and after having a seizure, the paramedics were called right away.  Madi was taken immediately to the hospital and within hours was having emergency brain surgery because they found blood on the brain.  Madi had a ruptured AVM blood vessel that caused the bleeding.

She is still in critical condition, but stable.  After the first 24 hours, they removed her breathing tube and she is breathing on her own.  Her second procedure, an Angiogram, confirmed that she has AVM--Arteriovenous Malformation and an aneurism near the hypothalamus that the doctors need to cap off.  These upcoming tests will help them to determine how they will accomplish this and prevent another rupture.  Treatment plans for what to do next along with recovery of brain damage will be more outlined after June 2nd.  

Any donation to help cover the long stay at the hospital, and the procedures she is expected to endure, would be greatly appreciated.  Madi is being a trooper in the PICU and you can see in her face that she is in pain even with the meds on a constant drip.  It is heart-breaking to watch such an active young person laying in bed waiting for her head to stop hurting, her neck to stop aching, and a plan for survival!
