Madeline's Miracle: Bridging the Financial Gap
Donation protected
Dear friends and supporters,
Madeline's heart is full of gratitude for all the love and support she has received. As she navigates the ups and downs of test results and treatment plans, she keeps her spirits high with the help of her close friends and her creative projects. She took a little time out last week to make some new furry friends.
We hope to share the test results and treatment plan with everyone soon!
We are a group of friends raising funds to help our dear friend Madeline who is currently battling brain tumors. Madeline had a seizure on December 26th and was rushed to Slidell Memorial Hospital. From there, she was transferred to Ochsner Main in Jefferson where she underwent numerous tests and procedures.
During her 3-week hospital stay, Madeline had a lumbar puncture test which caused a spinal fluid leak and resulted in painful headaches for almost a week. Despite these setbacks, she remained positive and resilient.
On February 11th, it was confirmed that she has brain tumors and she was scheduled for a biopsy. At this time she was told that the tumor is located in her hippocampus, amygdala, and in the white matter of her left temporal, parietal, and occipital lobes.
On February 24. She had a brain mapping and on February 28 had the biopsy. She went into ICU after the biopsy and could speak coherently within 24 hours.
On March 3 she went home, but within 12 hours had another seizure and went back to UMC, which is the University of Mississippi medical center. They did a CT scan.
They put her on steroids and seizure medicine. She was incoherent for a while after those seizures and the doctors said that the tumors were causing the seizures, not the biopsy.
Due to her medical condition, Madeline is currently unable to work or drive.
The funds raised through this GoFundMe campaign will help cover the costs of Madeline’s medical treatment and her basic living expenses such as rent, utilities, and groceries.
We are requesting funds to cover the period between now and when Madeline is able to receive government assistance through Medicaid and Social Security disability. We are working closely to help Madeline with the application process with Medicaid and Social Security.
We hope to raise $6,000 to help alleviate the financial burden and stress that Madeline is currently facing.
Any amount of donation would be greatly appreciated and would go a long way toward helping Madeline in her fight against this brain tumor.
We will be keeping everyone updated on Madeline’s progress and journey as she continues this brave fight.
Thank you for your generosity and support.
