Maddy is a bright, funny, and sweet four-year-old whose smile lights up every room she enters. Born with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, Maddy’s journey has been nothing short of challenging. On December 16, 2024, she suffered multiple cardiac arrests and was rushed to Boston Children’s Hospital, where she underwent emergency open-heart surgery and had a pacemaker placed. Sadly, her recovery has been difficult, and after numerous tests, doctors discovered an infection and issues with the placement of the pacemaker, causing further complications. On January 2, 2025, Maddy bravely underwent a second surgery to repair the damage and place a new pacemaker.
 
Now, Maddy remains in the hospital, awaiting a heart transplant and requiring constant care. Her loving mom, Shantel, has had to take a leave of absence from her job to be by her side, which has added a heavy financial burden on the family. Between travel costs to visit her daughter Haley, daily living expenses, medical bills, and unexpected costs, the family is facing overwhelming challenges. We’re reaching out for donations of any amount to help lift some of this burden so that Shantel can focus on supporting Maddy through this long road to recovery.
