Maddy O's Road to Recovery
While vacationing back in Durango, Colorado for a visit with friends, Maddy Oltmanns, (17 years old and a Colorado Native born), was involved in a roll over car accident on June 12th. She was immediately transferred to Children’s Hospital in Denver where she is undergoing her first surgery today (June 13th) for severe injuries of her cervical spine.
Maddy, and her mom Linda, had moved to Louisiana 7 months ago to be closer to family. She was just accepted to the Kenner Angels AAU New Orleans Travel Team. She is also on the Lake Shore High School Titan Basketball Team. She will be a Senior this fall. Maddy is an active student in anything that keeps her moving: volleyball, track, wrestling; but her true love is basketball. Maddy has dreams to attend college to play basketball or join the Air Force to be a pilot after High School.
Many weeks of recovery and months of physical therapy lie ahead for her. Maddy's mom Linda flew to Colorado immediately and is her sole supporter & provider. We are asking for prayers for Maddy's healing, and wisdom and strength for her family.
