ABOUT MADDY

Madison Mayo, a 19-year-old from North Attleboro, daughter of Maura Kigallon Mayo and Matthew Mayo, was diagnosed in early 2020 with a serious medical condition resulting in surgery to remove a cancerous tumor from her right temporal lobe. Due to the very rare and aggressive nature of this type of cancer, Madison is considered high surveillance and will continue to be seen by several teams of doctors at Mass General Brigham, Boston Children’s Hospital, The Jimmy Fund, and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute to find the best immediate and long-term treatment as she moves forward.

Madison’s medical situation has obviously taken, and will continue to take, a great emotional and financial toll on her family. Prior to Madison’s diagnosis, she was a typical student enjoying her senior year of high school at Tri-County High School with her twin sister Mackenzie. Today she is a sophomore attending Dean College majoring in Early Childhood Education.

Maddy is an extraordinary young woman with a bright, beautiful smile and a passion for children. Over the years, Maddy has volunteered at many local events involving children and local Veterans. Up until her diagnosis she was working co-op at Kinderbrook Children’s Center in Plainville as part of the Early Childhood Education Program through Tri-County, as well as working at the Hockomock YMCA summer camp.

PLEASE CONSIDER DONATING, AS WE JOIN MADDY FOR THE FIGHT OF HER LIFE...  We can’t take cancer away from Maddy, but we can sure help Maddy take it down!

Due to the aggressive nature of this type of tumor none of us know the full extent of Maddy’s long-term needs. What we do know is that she will need multiple visits and scans every year for the rest of her life and will forever be a patient of Dana Farber.

As friends of Maddy and the Mayo family, our goal is to help them focus on her care and not their finances, and hopefully even help Maddy prepare for her future medical needs through local fundraising events.

No donation is too small.
