Maddox's Medical Expenses

Hello, my name is Taylor Abshure and I am the mother of Maddox McCullough writing on his behalf. Monday June 5th, 2017 - started like any other normal day. We woke up to our happy smiley vibrant baby boy and began to get ready for one of his wellness check ups. Little did we know at that wellness check we would receive some pretty devastating news. As the doctor began to examine Maddox she assured me that there were some serious issues that needed to be addressed. She proceeded she was diagnosing him with a muscular and a cranial abnormality (torticollis, plagiocephaly, as well as a heart murmur). So she referred us to a specialist in each field.Monday June 12th, 2017 - we went to the cranial specialist earlier in the morning where they then took a 3D image of Maddox's head and compared the photograph to another 3D image of a baby's normal head. Then findings were that his head was flat in the back and too wide therefore needing to be reshaped in order to avoid problems such as deformity, disfigurement, and other medical issues that may arise. The recommended treatment for this diagnosis is reshaping and remodeling his head through the use of a DOC Band (possibly two of them). The process requires Maddox to wear the DOC Band for 23 hours a day, has follow ups every other week to review results and reshape the helmet (DOC Band). The same specialist talked to us about his torticollis as well. Torticollis is a tightening of the muscles on one side of the neck causing the head to tilt more on on side and can greatly effect the symmetry of the head, face, and ears. The specialist recommendation for this is PT (Physical Therapist) several times a week and home stretches five times a day. Tuesday June 13th, 2017- we took Maddox to his cardiologist appointment. After speaking with the specialist once he had examined Maddox he found that he did not have a heart murmur but that the way he was positioned in utero caused the shape of his chest cavity to grow inward moving his heart slightly to the left making any EKG or heart monitoring test show results of a heart murmur. The reason my family and I our reaching out for a helping hand is to make sure our son receives the medical treatment he needs and deserves. The out of pocket expenses for these treatments our expensive and way out of our reach due to being 7 1/2 months pregnant and only a person working in our household, which would be my fiancée we're struggling to make ends meet. Insurance is not going to cover to DOC Bands (helmets) which are averaging around $2,500 or more. We're also paying $40 for every visit we make to the cranial specialist every two weeks for 14-16 weeks (per each band/helmet), $40 for every PT visit. My family and I would greatly appreciate any help given. We are a growing family with a tight budget but we'd just like to get our son the medical treatment needed for the reason stated above.
