Maddox Our Fighting Warrior

Our fighting Warrior, Maddox, has been placed on a ventilator, (or life support, which is what came to our minds first) in the PICU at Medical City Children’s Hospital, after x-ray results showed that he had developed pneumonia. On October 22, 2019, he underwent a 2nd stem cell transplant, because he relapsed after his first one in 2018.  His recovery from his 2nd transplant was going extremely well, and so many results were coming back much more positive then the first transplant that he had. That is why this pneumonia blindsided us, along with his Doctors. Especially, because he had not shown any signs of being sick. We are asking for help as we are now struggling financially. On top of medical bills that are now coming in from his transplant that weren’t covered the 2nd time around, we will soon be receiving bills from his time in the PICU. Being in the PICU, you are unfortunately not allowed to eat in the room, so therefore you are not able to order food from the hospital. (A benefit that we had when Maddox was on the oncology floor). Therefore, every meal has to be purchased from somewhere, and expenses from food are going to soon start adding up. Maddox has a big sister, which means that one of us is having to drive back and forth between home and the hospital, to get her to school and to pick her up, on top of still trying to accomplish things that can only be accomplished outside of a hospital room. With the cost of gas prices the way they are, and with the hospital about 35 miles away from our home, travel expenses add up way to fast. Of course, we must also still be able to pay for our regular monthly bills and cost of daily living. I have never liked asking for help, and doing so is the hardest thing for me to do. But we can no longer do any of this on our own, so we are now asking for any help that anyone is able to give. We appreciate your continued prayers for our warrior. He has had to fight through so much in the last 2 years, so I know he will keep fighting. Thank you in advance for any help and once again for your continued prayers.
