This weekend my family and I experienced a flash flood that tore through our home and in addition to the obvious damage to the interior of our home it destroyed much of our belongings, vehicles, foundation, and fencing. We feel uneasy reaching out like this and are not sure what to expect out of this whole situation but have been informed that insurance will not be providing us any coverage due to them not classifying this as hurricane damage and we do not have flood insurance because we never had any cause to believe this was possible. Ultimately we are grateful nobody was hurt but the damage was extensive. There are portions of our house that had a couple feet of water raging through it. The power of this flash flood was nothing short of unbelievable. We are still collecting our belongings from neighboring properties and are amazed that we have found sizeable things such as our water heater, solar panels, and riding mower well into other properties. Fortunately we have received an overwhelming amount of support in the clean up but we are also faced with the challenge of having to remedy the damages and through the advice of close friends we are giving this option a try. We feel very blessed to have received the help everyone has given us and continues to give. Thank you
