Help Macy Regain Independence and Quality of Life!

Donation protected
For the last decade, many of us have watched Macy battle and juggle numerous chronic illnesses on a daily basis with Kyle, Addie, and now Stanley by her side. Through all the struggles and pain Macy has endured, she has always managed to keep going with a smile on her face. Because of this, it’s become easy to think that everything is going well for Macy, but over the past year, she has been battling a variety of new debilitating symptoms. These include increased issues with her balance, mobility, pain and stiffness, and constant tremors in her hands, among other symptoms that greatly affect her ability to live her daily life.

Macy and Kyle have been dealing with all of this mostly on their own, seeing doctor after doctor, hoping to finally get some answers. All of this led them to new specialists who believe that Macy has an undiagnosed Neuromuscular Disorder.

Unfortunately, as Macy got worse, her primary care physician informed them in December 2022 that their office could not continue to handle managing her complex case. The physician instead recommended they would need to have her care managed by specialists. Macy’s Immunologist has been doing everything he can since then along with the new specialty neurologists that have been added to her team. Macy’s team of specialists believe she now needs to be under the care of a Specialty Concierge Doctor to manage her complex case and organize all the specialty care. This doctor would take over as Macy’s new PCP but unlike others: they will be available 24/7, give Macy faster access to the best doctors the area has to offer, are willing to work closely with Macy’s established trusted medical team, and most importantly are not afraid of taking on a “complex” case like Macy’s to be her advocate.

Macy’s new symptoms have completely affected her mobility and taken away the freedom her service dog, Addie, has previously been able to give her. Even more critically it has greatly affected Macy’s ability to do the simplest tasks. Everyone who knows Macy knows that her “babies” Addie and Stanley are the lights of her life. Her current situation has made taking care of them on her own when Kyle needs to travel for work increasingly difficult but when it comes to the special care her rescue pups require, nothing can stop her. Stanley has megaesophagus, which is not an easy condition to handle. But even with her challenging conditions and symptoms, what matters to Macy and Kyle is taking care of Stanley and Addie to provide them with the spoiled life that they always deserved.

We created this GoFundMe to help Macy and Kyle:
  •  Pay for the extensive testing she still requires
  • Help pay the fee for the Specialty Concierge Doctor
  • Help pay for the medical bills that have accumulated while looking for answers

But most importantly, this GoFundMe is to help Macy hopefully get back a quality of life that includes being able to enjoy the simple things she loves that so many of us take for granted.

Taking care of Addie and Stanley, doing art once again, and working in her garden with Kyle and the pups— without constant pain and worry. Thank you to everyone able and willing to donate to help Macy get her independence back and keep that genuine smile on her face!
