MACNEIL Family

On September 13, 2017 Steve MacNiel was taking a load for work to Nampa Idaho, as he does often, when he started experiencing severe abdominal pain. He called 911 and after going to the Emergency room he was released. Still in severe pain he called 911 again, this time having more extensive test completed. They showed a mass in his intestines resulting in a perforation and he had to have emergency surgery. At this time it is pre-cancerous. Steve had a very long stay in the ICU. He then went to a rehabilitation facility for a short time and came home. He has nurses coming by to check him and his progress and in a few months he will return to the hospital for another surgery. He will not be able to go back to work for some time.

Steve and Angela met in California when they were teenagers as camp counselors. They dated for a few years and then Angela move to Washington. Years later they were able to reconnect and start a life together. They had Samantha and then adopted Sophia, Tristan and Lexi. They have also opened their home and their hearts to the foster care community in Central Washington and they currently have two additional children living with them. They have helped so many children and families; it's time we repay them.

After 25 days in the hospital and rehabilitation center they will need some help with medical expenses, supplies, and medications, not to mention daily expenses that incur. As a truck driver he was out of town roughly six hours when this incident occurred, therefore travel expenses also built up. Steve was the main source of income and will have a long road of recovery ahead of him and at this time there is no return to work date.
