After a decade of playing rugby at the club, provincial and national level, I have finally been selected for a World Cup team!
In just one month I will be heading to Australia to represent Canada in the Women's Rugby League World Cup and am asking you, my friends, family and rugby family to help support me in acheiving my dream.
Unfortunately women's rugby operates on a pay-to-play model, meaning that players need to find ways to cover their expenses in order to play. Largely this is done through fundraising. For example, I have paid to fly out to British Columbia for final tryouts and will be paying part of the costs of flights and accomodations in Australia. In addition there are the costs of physio therapy, equipment and lost wages as all of us will be out of work for a month!
Any donation makes a huge difference and is greatly appreciated! Thanks to everyone for your continued support over the past ten years, I would not be where I am now without it!
