Mackenzie Jo Lewerke was born August 17, 1994 in Clear Lake, Iowa. She lived a beautiful and loving life that all would say made their days a little brighter. She was a light to so many people in every aspect of her life, and this light has been called to heaven now.
She was taken from our world entirely too soon on Wednesday, March 27th, when she was in a single fatal car wreck after finishing up her work day and heading home with a dear friend following close behind her. She was 24 years old.
Lisa Lewerke, Mackenzie's mom, is left to pick up the pieces of a life she had built around the two of them, and there will be unexpected finances and struggles along the way for a mother who is trying to find her way without her only child. I have had many people ask how they could help, and we have determined that this would be a huge help!
I have created this Go Fund Me account for Lisa, and all of the funds donated will go directly to her. Nothing will involve me besides getting this page put together and continuing to answer calls/texts/emails from so many friends Lisa and Mackenzie have touched throughout their life together. I am here to help guide this page and support Lisa any way I can. Please consider donating if you have been thinking of sending flowers or anything of that nature. There will be a Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, April 20th at sunrise for friends and family that want to go to the beach and light a lantern in Mackenzie's memory.
