Machieles' Ecuador Mission Trip

Donation protected
This fall, Ellen and I will be traveling to the Amazon region of Ecuador with a team from my medical school (Campbell University). The purpose of this trip is to bring medical care and hope to the Quechua people living in the Amazon rainforest. In partnership with the Ecuadorian Health Ministry, we will be traveling by riverboat to five remote villages and expect to treat upwards of 500 patients per day. Our team will consist of medical students, physicians, nurses and pharmacists, as well as several key spouses and key school administrators.

This is my second time serving in the Amazon with CUSOM, and my responsibilities this year are slightly different as I’m further along in my medical training. I’ll be seeing patients independently during our clinics, and have also been tasked with leading daily morning worship for our team. Ellen will be triaging patients and serving in the women's and children's ministry, caring for the women who are so underprivileged and overworked in a male-dominated culture.

We will depart for Quito on September 30, 2017 and return on October 8. The total cost of the trip for each of us is $2070. Though this is an immense cost for our family, we strongly feel called to serve as a couple on this trip. Please consider supporting us in prayer, and financially if you're able. Thank you!
