Hi everyone, I wish the best back at home as my dad has been keeping me updated on what has been going on in the Bay. He was without work for a month as well from doing house remodeling. My heart has been going back as I might visit home next year after 1 year mandatory military service in Taiwan to get dual citizenship.

I've been in Taiwan (which is an island) and tried to start a recording studio last year which was financially a loss. I was recording for free most of the time to build relationships with nearby students and make friends who will introduce friends to the studio (I shut it down last May due to COVID https://www.instagram.com/dsustudios/ ).

On a lighter note, I met my girlfriend who was renting a room at the time near my recording studio in Tainan. We were dating for awhile, but I had to keep it a secret from my parents and my friends as for those who are Asian understand there are racial dynamics as my Indonesian girlfriend is Southeast Asian and family and friends would prefer that I marry a Taiwanese woman. There are stereotypes about Southeast Asians which are true and false in Taiwan, but we’ve dated for awhile until she went to Macau 5 months ago to caretake for a grandma.

Despite all of the accomplishments I feel I’ve done, my parents still think I’m too young to marry at 30 or even date as my parents were an arranged marriage and come from a traditional mindset so I’m reaching out to my friends.

I have booked a ticket to Macau Wednesday as we have talked about getting married in Taiwan and I sent her an engagement ring via mail, but I will have to go through 14 days quarantine in Macau 10/08 – 10/22 which costs $700 USD for room and food to come back with her (https://macaunews.mo/macau-imposes-quarantine-on-arrivals-from-all-foreign-countries/ ). I interviewed for a boarding school this month, but won’t hear back except during the quarantine. I am taking on Upwork jobs in the meantime to help with my costs for the trip and bringing her back so any help that you give will be greatly appreciated.

After I get out of quarantine, I'm planning to attend Toastmasters once, a speech club there to network and make friends for my friends if they are ever need to know people in that area. It is near Hong Kong and used to belong to Portugal until 1997.

Friends who know me, I don’t like to ask for help so in exchange during my 14 day quarantine 10/08 - 10/22 I can do video chats for donations $20 or more:

(1) Online violin lesson (played violin for 12 years)- 30 minutes

(2) Online piano lesson- 30 minutes

(3) Songwriting/rap/freestyle rap lesson- 30 minutes

(4) Beat production, background music or rap verse for your song with social media shout-out

(5) Personal Coaching (Setting non-work related goals) - 30 minutes

(6) Chinese lesson (Reading or writing)- 30 minutes

(7) Podcast interview on my youtube channel

If wanting indicate “friend- and the lesson you want" or just as friend. Special thanks to my brother Charles for helping out as I will be trying to connect you with the President of a Toastmasters club in Macau for potential Zoom meetings.

Thanks,
Eric
