Macaroni's Big Fall and Vet Bill

Our sweet tuxedo cat, Macaroni, managed to fall out of the window of our third story apartment in Brooklyn. We found him on the ground, alive but unable to move. We rushed him to the emergency clinic and were told that he had a broken leg and a collapsed lung, in addition to lacerations on his mouth. When we learned how much it was going to cost for him to have the necessary surgury, we panicked because of the incredibly high cost, but we knew we had to take care of our guy. Macaroni is home now, adjusting to his limited mobility and re-learning how to eat and use his litter box.

Now we have to pay all the medical bills ($1,000 to the urgent care clinic to do blood work, take X-rays and fix his collapsed lung and $2,900 to our local vet – the amazing Brooklyn Cares on Fulton Street – for the surgery and meds). We are doing our best to figure out how to do cover the cost alone using a payment plan, but it's pretty daunting. Many people advised us to put together a campaign so we could reach out to our networks of friends and family for help, so we did.
