<div>Mabomboh is a small farming village in Sierra Leone, home to 101 children between 2 to 16 years old. With the nearest school too far away, <strong>these children have been deprived of their right to education for decades.</strong> With your help, we want to bring education to this community and change their lives for generations to come.
</div>

<div>We’ve come a long way already from the small hut we started with this January 2021:

<div>Since then, we’re delighted to have almost finished a new building, which includes:

<li>A one-room nursery
</li>
<li>Two primary rooms
</li>
<li>A library
</li>
<li>A staff room
</li>

<div>However,<strong> we urgently need further funding </strong>to have the school ready for learning <strong>this September</strong>.
</div>
<div>So far, the project has been funded <em>entirely</em> by the kind support of Neneh (Evelyn) and Iain Maclean. We are now asking for your help to push this project further and support this community in need.

<div><strong>Our immediate fundraising targets:</strong>
</div>
<div>1. Build toilets: £2000
</div>
<ul>
<li>We hope to build two stalls for the girls and two stalls for the boys.
</li>
</ul>
<div>2. Build a well: £1000
</div>
<ul>
<li>Building a well will provide the community with clean drinking water from underground.
</li>
</ul>
<div>3. Install solar panels: £4000
</div>
<ul>
<li>As it stands, the villagers have <strong>no means of accessing technology/communications</strong> without having to travel <strong>10 miles </strong>to charge their devices. It is essential that the villagers have their own source of electricity - not only for us to communicate with them, but also for educational purposes such as sharing resources and teaching materials.
</li>
<li>The solar panels will also create new<strong> job opportunities</strong> for the villagers.
</li>
</ul>
<div>4. Furniture and other equipment : £3000
</div>
<ul>
<li>We aim to <strong>build desks and chairs </strong>for around 100 students. Any outstanding funds from the above will be spent on books, stationery, and other essential resources for learning.
</li>
</ul>
<div><strong>For the future: </strong>
</div>
<div>Within 2-years time, we hope to build three more classrooms to allow the children to progress. But our vision for Mabomboh does not end with the primary school - eventually, we aspire to have a <strong>secondary school</strong> as the nearest ones are over 10 miles away.
</div>
<div>We want to be ambitious with this project, because these children are worth investing in. As the school motto states, <strong>‘Education is Power’</strong>, and we hope that through the help of your donations, that we can empower the young people of Africa to know their rights and achieve positive change on the continent.
