MAB Art Studio Summer Fundraising!

Since inception in 2010, Make and Break Arts Foundation has been supporting various initiatives. Solely promoted and funded by generous patrons and board members, our organization has helped support artists, patrons and students over the last 7 years.
All funds raised to date has been used to support:
1-Art World Expo:
Production Costs incurred each year are upwards of $25,000-$30,000. We use funds raised through our auction, fundraising programs throughout the year and donations made to support this event by way of helping pay some costs for the venue, artist honourariums and equipment rentals. Each year, we are able to help over 100 artists be featured through this event. We have also managed to be self sufficient and have not applied for any grants or government funding to make this event happen. It is solely with the support of our patrons, artists and community at large that this event is possible. Our annual event is also run in conjunction with a bi-annual one in Toronto.
2-MAB Art Studio & Boutique Gallery:
Our goals to fundraise for the studio and gallery consist of being able to continually guarantee programs and opportunities for adults and children alike. MABAF fundraising allows us to support programs for childrens art camps, artist honorariums, venue rental, maintenance costs, and funding for professional development locally and internationally. We support a minimum of 10 children through sponsored camp fees and work with local schools and organizations in BC to help provide opportunities for children and adults alike. Our fundraising helps us secure studio assistants as well as cover costs to operate where we may not be able without the support of our community.
3-Painting Dreams Art Tours:
Artists from our student body and the arts community are invited to participate in annual retreats and painting tours in British Columbia and Europe each year. We work with these artists to help find them funding, set up fundraising initiatives with them, and help support costs of our instructors for teaching and travelling overseas. Some of the costs in the past have included honoariums for travel expenses for smaller items not covered by the tour such as baggage fees or short distance travel via rail. Should there be no expenses to cover for the instructors or coordinators, funds raised go to our studio summer costs to ensure the facility, programs and camps are suppprted while the tour is happening.
This year, we are subsidizing one of our art students whose medical condition and kidney transplat has prevented her from working full time to join our REO Rafting trip in July. Our goal is to raise $200 to subsidize the cost of half of the weekend retreat.
All of our fundraising is done by our board members and volunteers in our community. We are not municipally, provincially or fedreally funded and so, all our fundraising dollars have come from the hard work of members and volunteers who go out of their way to donate and collect bottles, rally sales for holiday initiatives such as our Holiday Artisan Catalog and Valentine's Day Truffle Fundraiser (among others!) and find donations for our silent auctions.
We have also been able to sell services and items from our community and studio with full proceeds going to the causes above. In doing so, we have been not only been able to give back to our patrons and community via events, programs and exhibitrions, but we have also instilled a work ethic in our volunteer and board membership whereby we have prided ourselves in our fundraising capabilities as a team. We work hard to make sure our programs, exhibitions and expansion is happening and value our volunteers and team like no other!
We are continually fundraising and our annual summer fundraising offers are some of our most popular so be sure to have a look and help us ensure that this season is our best yet!
