Remembering Jazzy

Jasmine's story is a hard one to tell.  No mother or father should have to bury their child.  Sweet little "Jazzy" was far too young and innocent to deserve this.  Her story begins with what was believed to be a common illness.  Mom brought her to the doctor and was told everything looked normal and to continue life as usual.  Carrie still wasn't satisfied so she brought Jasmine to another doctor, again the doctors assured her things were going to be ok and there is nothing to worry about.  A mother's intuition is never wrong.  Carrie brought her into St Mary's Hospital Wednesday afternoon and they believed her appendix was in jeopardy.  They had her rushed to Helen DeVos Children's Hospital where she began more testing.  By that evening they discovered she had a form of Leukemia.  This is where things get complicated.  Because the disease had gone undetected and was so fast acting it had overwhelmed her little body and blood, making treatment very difficult.  Within 36 hours of being diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia Jasmine passed away in her mother's arms.  

As we understand everyone wants to offer their love and support right now we also ask for privacy and respect for Carrie as she is dealing with this unimaginable grief.  She and her kids are being well cared for.  

We are offering this opportunity for donations as many have already asked.  Donations will be used for funeral expenses, any medical bills that may trickle in, burial expenses and a proper headstone.
