Help Bear fight for his life
Donation protected
Hi, we are Jayden & Amelia. We’re raising money for a medical emergency for our little puppy Bear.
bear is a pedigree English staffy who’s just turned one year last month. He has been the pride and joy of our lives’ ever since we got him at 8 weeks. Always been on a raw/barf diet, vaccinated and wormed frequently. He has been the most joyous and healthiest little bulldozer. Words can’t describe how much he means to us. Bear has been spoilt rotten by us.
He has taken a turn for the worst on Christmas Day when he was opening his presents. We noticed he started coughing and gagging but nothing coming out. Seemed that exhaling when he was excited was the issue. We rushed him to emergency Tuesday night as he was not himself and has been in intensive care since then. They’ve run blood tests, X-rays, put him on two antibiotics as well as anti nausea. They don’t know what’s wrong yet but said there’s an issue with his upper respiratory system, gastrointestinal and possibly bone marrow/low white blood cells. He was tested negative for parvo and we were told that it is not tick prevented. The vet warned us that he may not make it through the night last night and to be prepared for euthanasia but he has fought it through. We were told he did not have 12-24 hours in him yesterday. Now we are looking to do further tests at our regular vet but are unsure how far we can go with the care as we’ve already exhausted our savings. Any donations made will go directly to bears vet for further diagnosis and treatment.
we were told that returning him to an emergency vet where they can run all the tests may cost up to $10,000 so we have transferred him again back to our regular vet for now for fluids and medicine as he is a lot stronger and healthier today. We are awaiting ultrasound instructions for his lungs and abdomen to see if it may be an obstruction which then will require surgery.
any little bit will help for our boy ❤️
