Kirtland Central H S Choir Trip

We are the Kirtland Central High School Choirs from Kirtland, NM and we are planning a choir trip to Salt Lake City, UT.  We will leave Thursday,  April 30, 2015 and will return on Sunday, May 3, 2015.  While we are in the Salt Lake City area, we are planning on attending a rehearsal of the world famous Mormon Tabernacle Choir.  This is an excellent opportunItiy for the studenfs to hear a world class choir.   Most of our students have very little exposure to hearing other choirs, let alone, a choir of this caliber.  
 
Students will have the opportunity to visit the University of Utah campus on Friday Morning.   While there, they will be given a campus tour and will be given a presentation on how to get into college and how to pay for it.   Many of our students have few opportunities to leave the  Four Corners area and many students don't feel that attending a large university is a possibility for them.    This will help those students to have hope and see the possibilities. 
 
Our group will attend a performance of the musical,  The Music Man on Friday evening at the Pioneer Memorial Theater on the University of Utah Campus. This performance will allow many of our students to experience live musical theater for the first time.
 
On Saturday morning,  we will travel north to West point,  UT to participate in a Music In The Parks music festival.  There, we will perform in front of judges and will be critiqued on ou r performance.  Following our festival performance,  we will travel to Lagoon Amusement Park for a day of fun .
 
While this has the potential to be a wonderful trip for our students,  the cost is very high.  We anticipate the cost for this trip will be well over $10,000 for these four days.  Everything we do on this trip has an expense attached to it.   For example, just stopping at a fast food restaurant to feed the group costs a few hundred dollars every time.  

Many of our students do not have the funds to go on this trip.  The choir students and I appreciate any help you can give to us. We appreciate your generosity.   Thank you for helping the students of the Kirtland Central High School Choirs.
