Kate's Kenyan Medical Clinic Fund

So as you all may know I have spent the past 7 weeks in Kenya doing my outreach phase of the Discipleship training school. On our first week here one of the missionaries living in Kenya invited me to stay for an additional four weeks after my outreach to be apart of a mobile medical clinic that will travel to four different locations throughout Kenya! 

With my medical background in Nursing the plan is that I will be working with the team of Doctors, nurses and pastoral support persons from America and will be seeing, treating and educating patients. We will be going to remote and rural areas where access to medical assessment and treatment is very difficult due to the long distances they live from the closest medical clinic, lack of funds and lack of education. And in most cases the medical treatment that they can access is of very poor quality. People are dieing of illnesses such as diarrhea, malaria, malnutrition, pnemonia and HIV/Aids because of this. We plan to conduct the medical clinic in these areas to not only treat but educate the Kenyan people.
And this is my personal vision for the mobile medical clinics. I want to see people encouraged and interested in improving their health and the health of those around them. I want to see these people of Kenya having an understanding of how to manage and prevent illnesses such as the ones mentioned above. Most of all I want to see a positive, long lasting impact on the people we will treat that can help them for generations to come. So I plan to take the time with every patient that I see to ensure they understand clearly what is causing them to be ill and ways to either prevent or manage that illness depending on what they present with. 

For this all to be possible I need your help and support to raise $2000. This will cover my flight changes from Niarobi to Los Anglels and from Los Angeles to Brisbane, travel insurance, transportation back to Niarobi, and bills and expences back home. I am so passionate about staying in Kenya to be apart of this team and I hope that you can partner with and support me in any way possible!
