Help Sheila Cartaya, and help us fund our prayers

Hi, my name is Arlette Cartaya. I am Sheila Cartaya’s sister. On July 2nd I received a phone call stating that my sister had been it by a truck the night before in Tawakani, Texas. When the authorities arrived to the scene my sister was already in a coma. She was then airlifted to the Plano Medical Hospital and received a blood transfusion in the helicopter ride to the hospital. She was taken immediately to the ICU, to start examining her and helping as much as they could.
After the doctors examinations we were told that my sister has the following:
- Cracked skull
- Brain movement/misplacement
- Bleeding in her brain
- Broken cheekbone
- Broken Nose
- Broken Spinal Disk
- 3 cracked ribs
- Blood in her lungs
- Broken fingers
- Broken Femur
- A gash the size of a fist on her leg
- Broken toes
They have already operated her femur and the gash on her leg as it was necessary to be able to move her around for other procedures (Since the Femur is the largest bone in the body). They were able to take her off of the breathing tube and she is now breathing on her own. However, she still remains in a coma. They have now taken her out of the ICU as they have done as much as they possibly could.
My family and I continue to pray for her recovery as we have faith that she will wake up eventually. She remains at the hospital holding on to her life. The doctors have advised that they believe only a minimal portion of her brain is working, her brain still has blood due to the multiple skull fractures and it will take a miracle for her to wake up from her coma.
We are currently unable to transfer her to Miami as they state that her brain needs to heal and be more stable. The only way my family and I are able to be with her is by taking multiple flights and booking hotels in Texas to be with her during this time.
I am making this go fund me to help my family and I with all the medical expenses that will be coming along with this lengthy and slow process to recovery, as we believe that she will eventually wake up and come back to us.
Every single donation that you can possibly help us with will be greatly appreciated, and if you are not able to donate, we completely understand. Please share this, and keep my sister Sheila Cartaya in your prayers.
Thank you so much to all for hearing my sisters story and God Bless you!
