Rick's Funeral

On Saturday the 14th of September, my stepfather and the father of my little brother, Rick Kurowski passed away unexpectedly. 

Those who knew Rick know that he was one of the friendliest people you could come across. Rick didn't have much but he had a lot of love to give. Rick married my Mum when I was four and shortly after my brother Ben was born. Following the birth of Ben, our family spent many happy years in our humble home in Clifton Beach. Rick and my mum, Amanda separated about 12 years ago but they remained close. 

Throughout his life, Rick touched the hearts of many people. He always had a story to tell, an ear to listen, and a ciggie to bum. 

Rick had a tough life and due to his physical and mental health issues, he has been unable to work for many years. This means that Rick didn't leave anything behind that can help my family cover the costs of a funeral. He had no savings, no super, and only a couple of cars with thousands owing. Rick's only next of kin is my 22yo brother Ben, who is having a tough time finding the funds to pay for a funeral while still grieving. 

We want to host a modest but beautiful service for Rick and are hoping that family and friends might be able to contribute just a little to help us along. 

The estimated costs are as follows: 
Cremation $4,000
Celebrant $500
Venue hire + food $500
