<div>The Challenge – Silent Steps
</div>

</div>
<div>On 1 May 2026, I will begin a over 1,000-mile walk from John O’Groats in Scotland to Land’s End in Cornwall.
</div>
<div>The journey will take approximately 10 weeks to complete.
</div>
<div>I have named this challenge Silent Steps.
</div>
<div>I am walking so that the barriers faced by Deaf people are no longer ignored.
</div>
<div>I am walking to show that Deaf people will not be silenced.
</div>

<div>For safety and wellbeing, Chris Probert will act as my support driver throughout the journey. The project will also include filming, marketing, and press coverage, helping ensure that these Silent Steps are seen and heard across the UK.

<div>Why Does Silent Steps Matter?

<div>Every day, Deaf people face barriers — especially in healthcare.
</div>
<div>These include:

</div>
<div>•	Limited access to mental health support
</div>
<div>•	Lack of interpreters and accessible information

<div>Deaf people are being harmed — and in some cases dying — because healthcare is not accessible.
</div>
<div>These barriers cause isolation, inequality, and long-term harm.
</div>
<div>Silent Steps is more than a challenge.
</div>
<div>It is a statement.
</div>
<div>It is about visibility.
</div>
<div>It is about equality.
</div>
<div>It is about empowerment.
</div>
<div>This is not about one person.
</div>
<div>It is about you.
</div>
<div>It is about the Deaf community — now and in the future.
