<div>As some of you know, in 2024 Joe was diagnosed with cancer, and for over a year now, he has been facing a major health challenge. The past year has been a revolving door of testing, procedures, and emergency room visits that have already run up medical bills and placed an unsustainable demand on him and his family. While his doctors are encouraging about the outcome, recent tests showed new activity and he's now scheduled for surgery on May 30. After the surgery, he still faces a pretty intense road ahead with continuing treatments for six months. Along with these treatments, which are only partially covered by Medicare, he will also need help managing side effects through accompanying therapies that are not covered by insurance. The cost of care, follow-up testing, aftercare, and being unable to work during his recovery will be insurmountable without all of our help.

<div>Those of you who know Joe know he has an indomitable spirit and enthusiasm that have carried him through 36 years of sobriety, during which he has helped countless others on the recovery path. As a loving husband and father to Laurie and their two boys, Freddie, 13, and Winston, 9, and as a dedicated recording artist and playwright, he has always been tirelessly devoted to living life to the fullest. Apart from his music and recovery coaching, he also does the strenuous work of intervention and on-the-ground harm reduction support for addicts in crisis. For the next 6 months or so, he will no longer have the capacity to continue this stressful level of work alongside taking care of his health. Every donation brings him one step closer to healing this disease. If you’re able to help in any way or share this message with others, it would mean the world to Joe and his family.
