Tablets For Online Learning!

Thank you for taking the time to watch this video!  You are probably viewing this page from your smartphone, tablet, or some kind of electronic device. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit and school closed, I easily transitioned to online learning with my laptop the next day.

But it is not so easy for some students here in The Bahamas.  The Bahamas still faces ongoing challenges from Hurricane Dorian in 2019.  Prior to the pandemic, public schools already lacked educational materials and they became even more overcrowded from a large population of displaced families following the catastrophe.

Now the COVID-19 pandemic is creating yet another challenge.  Currently, there is a shortage of computers, laptops, and tablets available for purchase in the country.  Public schools have transitioned to the virtual classroom, but due to financial hardships, many families do not have access to the necessary technology.

My name is Ethan Mui, and I am a junior at Windsor High School in The Bahamas.  This idea started because I developed an informational COVID-19 website as a school project.  Along the way, I learned that many local students did not even attend school because they did not own a device. I set out to make a difference.

My goal is to raise $5,000 in order to purchase tablets or laptops for less fortunate Bahamian students.  I am partnering with Project Limestone, a Bahamian non-profit organization offering academic and athletic programs to disadvantaged local youths.

Please consider contributing NOW to help a disadvantaged student in The Bahamas.  And share this link with others so we can spread the word and help these students get back to learning.  Thank you for your support!
