Fundraising for Fiji

This March, I will be travelling over 9,000 miles across the pacific to volunteer in Fiji with Think Pacific. I will be spending 1 month within a Fijiian community. Think Pacific are an organisation in direct partnership with the Fijiian Government who aim to improve the lives of those, young and old, living in the most disadvantaged areas of The Fijiian Islands. During my time I will be working alongside a group of about 20 volunteers within a remote Fijiian community. We will be contributing to improvements to education, youth sport and wellbeing and development projects which are making huge improvements to the lives of children living in hardship. I have a huge goal of €1400 to raise before I leave. 

My Role
During my time in Fiji I will be living with a local family in the heart of a tribal village . I will have a number of responsibilities but some of them will include:
-Establishing kindergarten programmes
-Implementing teaching methods as well as offering one-to-one english lessons to children and young adults in the community
- Leading extracurricular activities such as art, music and sports coaching
-Help build important facilities within the village

Where Your Donations Will Go
-Providing teacher training
-Funding for educational and sport equipment
-Apprenticeship scheme to provide access to skills training for young Fijian adults
-Support building projects
-30% of each volunteer's project fees goes towards future maintenance and sustainability of these primary schools in future

**My flights are self funded and are already paid for so all donations will go directly to Think Pacific Charity and the people of Fiji.
