Bobbye Sue Ball has been dealing with health issues for a few years now. In May, she was given the diagnosis of Rheumatoid Arthritis and Scleroderma. In June, she was told that she had Pulmonary Hypertension upon exertion (just standing can decrease her oxygen levels). In September, she was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis following a CT Scan. These pulmonary issues are caused by Scleroderma.
Last week, Bobbye went to the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) and saw a team of specialists that will be overseeing her care. She will be traveling there often for tests and treatments. She will also be evaluated for a lung transplant at UPMC. Although she is not currently ready for a transplant, the evaluation will have her prepared in the case that a transplant is eminent. She will also be receiving pulmonary rehabilitation twice a week locally.
As you can imagine, this has been shocking and frightening for Bobbye and her loved ones. Due to the overwhelming expenses for travel, medicine, and other related expenses, her friends are asking for your help. If you can help financially, it would be so greatly appreciated. If not, your prayers for her journey are equally appreciated.
Bobbye is working hard to take care of herself, raise her son, and live life to the fullest in the wonderful community that she has always called home. Please do not hesitate to offer her encouraging words to let her know that you are with her as she continues on her path.
