On February 7th, Eddie was having a routine day. He went to work, worked a full day, and then headed over to his second job to put in a full night’s work. After work, he strapped his helmet on, and began his usual trek home on his bicycle. This is the same route he has been riding home for the past 8 years. Only on this night, everything was going to change.

Eddie was hit by a drunk driver on his way home. The drunk driver and passenger of the car left Eddie there on the side of the road. That’s right… left him. They didn’t stop. They didn’t help. They didn’t call an ambulance. They left him.

Luckily, there was a Good Samaritan who witnessed the accident, called 911, and chased after the drunk driver.

This accident nearly cost Eddie his life. Thank God he always wore his helmet. Thank God someone called 911. And thank God they caught the drunk driver.

Eddie remains in the hospital with a very serious leg injury and with shoulder, hand, and back injuries. Eddie will not be walking, riding a bike, or be going back to work anytime soon. Even with all of this, Eddie is still smiling that megawatt smile.

Eddie is one of the nicest people you could ever meet. If you have met him, chances are, you love him. If you have not met him, I hope you get a chance to meet this kind soul. He is the hardest worker in the room with the biggest smile on his face. There is no one more positive or encouraging than Eddie. He is a true inspiration to everyone around him. He is a true friend to so many with the purest of hearts.

Working is all Eddie knows. He works 7 days a week. Sometimes, 16 hours a day. He never misses a day of work, and never complains. He always works. He works very hard on his feet all day and most of the night. He has gone from working every day, to lying in a hospital bed, worried about when he will get back to work.

Please help Eddie on his road to recovery.
