Dakota is a rescue shepherd/ beagle mix...
a She-gle :) Dakota is a little over 5 years old when abandoned by her family. Once they moved from Germany to the states they gave her up, possibly because of her newly found illness -- Diabetes.
Dakota has a love of life . She is still very active, wanting to be a part of everyone and everything. Dakota enjoys the company of friendly dogs and kitties and children.
Currently Dakota is on Levemir insulin which is costly. It averages at $300 a month in addition to WD prescription food which averages over $80 a bag ; meaning to keep Dakota alive , it will cost her caregivers and this rescue $400 a month. We are currently looking at other options for her including changing insulin but it takes additional vet visits and trials. As a small rescue group we barely bring that much in to care for all of our rescues, let alone one sweet soul like Dakota..
We are asking that you share her story in the hope of donations that help maintain her care over the next few months until we can find other options for her, or a home that is able to care for her completely and always.
