Stella "DragonSlayer" Medical Fund

March 26th of this year will be exactly one year since Stella Mia's tragic accident.
Stella was 2 years old when she climbed up on the kitchen counter to blow out a scent burning candle, Stellas hair immediately caught on fire leaving second and third degree burns to the left side of her face. This happen while I was preparing food at the kitchen counter behind her, I immediately put out the fire, but not soon enough.
Stella and I were airlifted to Saint Barnabas Medical Center where we both stayed for three weeks. As a mother I could not leave her side, I felt incredibly guilty. Stella was in the intensive care burn unit for 9 days, only after day 4 she begged to go home. Stella's younger sister and father came to visit every other day. Stella had a very rough recovery, her eyes had swollen shut for 3 days and Stella had no appetite for almost 2 weeks. For almost 5 months Stella wore full covered bandages all around her face, summer we spent most of our time in the house because doctors said it could make the scarring worse if it came in contact with any sunlight. Unfortunately, Stella has scaring around the left side of her eye, but fortunately the fire did not make it to her hair line or eye, meaning her hair grew back and her eye sight is untouched. Stella now is attending preschool because after the accident she was very shelled up and embarrassed to go anywhere.
Stella has an amazing family and great friends that are always here for her and if anyone asks about her face she answers with "I fought a dragon." She's more amazing than words.
To see someone so tiny and sweet go through something so horrible was traumatizing.Thankful she has no recollection of the incident, but she does tell me she does not like the boo-boo on her face and suffers from headaches.
We have taken Stella to a plastic surgeon who suggested we massage her face three times a day and for Stella to wear Silicon while she sleeps, if the scarring is still major by the time she is five plastic surgery will be the next step. We have also been following up with doctors as to why she might be suffering from the headaches and hard time sleeping.
Only three months after her accident I brought out a candless birthday cake for her third birthday, afraid that candles might scare her, Stella looked at me and said "I need candles for my cake.", her spirit is so amazing and strong and her character is so pure.
She truly is an inspiration. At two years old and now three, she is amazing in every way, a fan of super heroes, zombies, and Disney Princesses, she's incredibly unique and sweet as pie and has everything in the world going for her, but I fear the amount of hospital bills that my husband and I are trying to obtain are becoming overwhelming. I'm not proud of asking for help, but even after insurance covered 90% of the bills we are still left with a lot and as two working parents with two children, trying to pay this has become a huge weight.
For anyone that could help we would be extremely grateful for anything that came our way. Please help us so we can continue caring for Stella Mia and the rest of our journey ahead of us and knowing she would never be held responsible for these bills.
